Default Anyone here been involved in a wreck

Recently I was involved in a minor traffic accident. I was rear ended at a stop sign so it was the other partys fault. Damage was very very minor, paint scratchs was pretty much it. I however am not sure how to go about collecting money from the other party. I have their insurance companys name, the drivers name, and thier address but no policy number or any of that jazz. Any information on what to do after this point is very appreciated. The police were called and a report was made just so it is clear and on paper from a 3rd party what happened.

+1 on calling insurance company,

This won't help now, but I saw on the ocho a lot of the civic guys were getting people to give them like $500 if they don't report it to insurance, and then they pick up the HFP lip.

This accident was not my fault so I think I am less likely my insurance will raise. I have a very good plan and not much affects it. Several other people on a seperate board said to call the kids insurance since it was his fault.

From the start the kid and his father wanted to keep it off insurance. They agreed to write me a check after I got an estimate. I sent them a copy and then I called them a few days later. His father said that I can go and get my car fixed and he will go and write a check for the balance to get it out. However, this is a trust thing and I do not know these people. If they did not pay the balance my car would not be out of the shop until I came up with the money. So after explaining my concerns with him a few minutes ago he agreed to take a check to the place tomorrow morning. Hopefully my car will be in the shop some time next week for a only a few days and everything will be perfect again.
