your best bet is to pull off the rotors, use a power drill and wire brush to get them clean, then use rust proof hi temp paint. My acura lasted 1.5 years with the paint and I did a poor job as I was in a hurry (rain). Or prime it with rust proof primer then spray. Be sure to avoid spraying the rear inner sides where the e-brake latches onto.
In the summer I always carry brake cleaner spray to clean the calipers and brake dust. It helps keep em clean and quiet. I tend to stick with ceramic brakes though. Curious if they shed more brake dust, not sure, but awesome stopping power and longevity. |
