ya the 12,000k Refers to the color spectrum 3,800k are what your stock should put out they are a sorts yellowish color. The next step up is 4,000k (silver star) a more whiter color. But you realize that the higher you go up the Kelvin scale the hotter and brighter they get. Next would be 4,300k witch would be what most BMW’s have ex.. That’s about the whites your going to get. Then there’s either 5,000k or 6,000k witch would be a light green color. Then it goes to the cool colors like blue and purple, and let me tell you, you can’t miss these cars. They are 8,000k (blue), and 12,000k (purple). I hope this makes sense, but if you have a chance to look at the back of the box of the silver star lights they give you a color chart that I described. Oh and I believe that my HID’s are 35 watts of power. And I think that your stock ones are 45w low b and 55w high b.

eventually you are going to get into the ultraviolet range, I wonder what that would look like, maybe UV Fog
![]() $250 is not a bad price, then usually range from $200-$500 for a kit, however I reccommend that you use a projector retrofit with a 4300k kit if you can afford it, it puts out the most light and has a HID cutoff to prevent others from being blinded. Be careful with 12k PnPs, if anyone is blinded and runs off the road it will be considered your fault for having illegal lights ![]()

Well I’m not sure how much you want to spend on HID’s but I wouldn’t be cheep. I spent around 300 for my kit, the kit wasn’t bad the only thing was the 9006 connection was sort of crappy; you needed to make your own connection. And when you put in the connections in the 9006 they needed to be glued in. they moved around too much. I feel the factory should have done this but I think they didn’t want any liabilities. To get back to the kit most are closely the same just look what the ballast, has to offer. Like how fast you can turn on and off your lights, what’s the delay time, dose it have any protection from power glips or spikes, Ex. If you have a big stereo. And any other equipment protection.

If you go for the silverstars it is just a simple bulb change
The PnP xenon is the bulb, balast, and some wiring A true HID setup requires projector headlights or adding a projector lens to your headlights. I'd advise against the PnP kit for on road use, they are not nearly as good as a projector, are dangerous, and illegal
