its more of a lowrider look though, thats why i'm thinkin of it. The only thing we are worried about is water getting underneath. If you guys have any other ideas on tryin to make it standout, i'm all ears but I'm not going out of the lowrider area.

Realize that underneath your engine is completely open to the elements underneath. Water will get in no matter what you do to the hood. If you get some rubber moulding (like for doors) you can seal up the gaps you've made in the hood.

Okay maybe this is a dumb question, but if you split the hood do you have to put in another fastener to hold it together? What would prevent it from flying open or rattling together and making noise during aggressive driving?

that's the thing later on down the line IF we do decide to do it, no one will be driving the car except off the trailer. This is something we might do in probably 5-7yrs down the line. Along with how i'm doing the doors I won't be able to drive it anyways.
