Default Debadging

S6001491.jpgWhat's the easiest way to remove or debadge your car? I have an 08 Accord, and want to take the name and the "H" off the back. I want to buy the Inspire badge and put it on.

Well to ttake the Honda logo off your more than likely going to have to pop it out threw the inside of the trunk and fill the hole in with bondo.. The Accord Badge should just be some how stuck on there and is easier.. All you need is to heat it off and take a razor to it. BE VERY VERY CAREFUL NOT TO SCRATCH THE PAINT! Also I would take a rag and some Goo Be Gone and wipe that spot down..

get some 3m Removal spray, worked well for my car. you wouldn't even need a razor, just the spray and some elbow grease

You could also use heavy fishing string to pop the emblem off then use goo gone to remove the double stick tape that is left.
The honda emblem will have 2 pins through it so i would leave that one attached.

Wrap a thin flathead screwdriver with masking tape and pry it off. The tape should be new enough to come with it. Or you can be like me and wait 10 years for the tape to wear out. 2 good slams of the trunk and the emblems will pop off in your hand

I've never understood the debadging thing. I like to show off my make and model. Makes me feel special I guess.

It's not really about trying to get rid of the name Honda, it's more of just being a little different. Since I got the car, people come up and ask what it is before seeing the H or the name Accord. I also am just perplexed by the fact Americans pay extra for the name of the car and not what it is exactly. By all fact's, I drive an Inspire and the TL is an Accord. Why not confuse the uninformed general public, just a little more. And wouldn't it be nice to drive a car; that by name isn't in the U.S.?
