Default jerky throttle on 07 Si?

I think we might have had posts about this before, but it's been worse lately-especially when the car is cold. It could be the change in weather over the last few weeks. My Si has about 1400 miles on it now.

It seems that the throttle is very jerky in 1st and 2nd gear. It gets a bit better when it warms up.

At first, I thought maybe my clutch was slipping. But I tested it out, thanks to some advice on this forum, and it seems to be fine. The RPM's don't rise without the car. The car is just VERY jerky in lower gears. It seems that maybe the gas pedal is extremely sensitive?

Anyone else find this?

I had a 1996 Civic DX that was almost as touchy (auto trans) for a long time and then Honda announced a recall to fix the throttle linkage assembly. But it took YEARS for them to announce it.

All cars will "buck" in first and most FWD will in second at low RPM's and even worse when it's cold. A smooth accelerating foot will solve your problem.

many think that the si has a touchy throttle due to the drive by wire throttle, although it was supposed to be fixed by a reflash, that should be in all of the '07s

I'm on the phone with Honda CS and the guy is denying any reflash on the 06 or any complaints about the trottle of any kind. He says the 06 and 07 are the same.

He denied ever hearing about the 06 rev hang or any other ecu reprogramming or even any complaints about it.

His only suggestion is that I take it in to a dealer.

Thanks, Honda!

I was out at the honda dealer test driving the new '07 Si Sedan, the throttle was very touchy at slow speeds.

I didn't shift that fast, but I did not feel a rev hang problem

When I asked about the issues he said that the problems were fixed in the new cars, so there must a reflash for the old ones, maybe ask another dealer?

btw, when manuals are cold do they all have smoothness problems, when driving the s2k the other day when it was cold out and the car haden't been driven for a few days it was impossible to shift 1st and 2nd smoothly for the first few miles

The S has a weird tranny which is weird to shift when cold.

Back on topic... I think it's just a lack of driving skills. More practice will fix this issue.

Maybe you're releasing the clutch while giving unsuficient throttle..... or simply releasing the clutch roughly.

In my dad's auto accord the car is jerky if you use anything but next to no pressure, these DBW throttles are very sensitive.
