For a 2 inch drop you might want to look at coilovers, that seems like a lot for springs.
I think 16" rims look better, but 15" rims will probally be lighter and faster.

Eibach Sport Line springs should go down about 2" depending on your vehicle. They have been around forever and you rarely hear anything bad about their products.

dont forget about the materials its made out of...a 15 steellie is heavier than a 16 or 17 alloy... just bustin your chops ...in general your right...smaller equals lighter
