Default GReddy turbo kit?

Has anyone put a Greddy turbo kit into a 2006-7 SI yet? It's supposed to be a complete package and boost the hp to 250.

I've read that some people feel it's not good to put a turbo in a vtec engine.

turbo and vtec are totally fine. The stock MAP sensor holds 11psi but I would keep it on low boost at all times or you risk serious detination. 5-6 psi will do.

Greddy Turbo kits are great for reliability and every day drivability

They are also legal in all 50 states, and you get to keep power steering and A/C

Just make sure you get a blow off valve and turbo timer, and a wastegate, intercooler, and boost controllers are good too.

Does their kit come with everything I need? THey say it does. Is there any way to get it installed without screwing up my warranty? Will any Honda dealer put it in?

What is the MAP sensor? Does it sense the amount of air flow and adjust the fuel?

Could you go up to 7 or 8 psi and be safe?

I doubt you will be able to install it without voiding your warranty. You are adding excess stress to your engine, and that probally frees honda of its obligation to back up its product.

If you do get the kit make sure that it either has a BOV or you get one (From what I've heard if you don't have a BOV the turbo will spin backwards when you let off the throttle )

i was gonna get a basic turbo kit for my eg4 but its not vtec and all i would get up to is about 115kw at around 6psi on a basic system. as TJ213 said a bov and timer are essential especially for a non-vtec

Boost serge is when the turbo spins backwards. A BOV should be included with the kit. If GReddy claims all will be in the kit you can bet it can. A kit will void your warantee instantly.
MAP-Mass Air flow sensor also known as MAF in some cars.

Has anyone tried their luck with an Edelbrock Turbo set-up?

N/A all the way baby especially on a new car that still has a factory warranty. why void that, just save your money up and buy other stuff first. the K-series is a good motor in an N/A setup anyway. however, if you just bought a new Si, don't care about voiding your warranty, and can afford a turbo kit from Greddy, then you obviously make more money than i do. in that case, Greddy makes good turbo kits. I read about their turbo 07 Si; or was it an 06...anyway, the kit looked nice. if you have questions about the kit, you should contact them directly...here's a link to their web page that has their contact info on it: Greddy - Founded and Driven by Racers good luck!
