Default b16 ecu question..

i need some help.. i bought a 91 ef si hatch with a b16a swap. the car is definetly lagging! the guy told me thats becuz the ecu is the stock one for that car.. he gave me a p28 ecu and when its in, the car starts but cuts off.. any1 think they can help?

A P28 runs a D16, not a B16. That would be your problem. It's possible that your engine is a worn out dud, since JDM motors never come with a guarantee. Someone who gave you a wrong ECU might be foolis enough to buy a worn out engine.

what's the specific engine code? B16A2? B16A?

from what i've found it's an OBD0 PR3 ECU for 88-91 or you can chip a P28 OBD1 ECU

thanks.. i did use the obd0 pr3 and worked. of course i did have to adjust the timing 1st, cuz until i did that it was still running slow. now i just have to check and see why my vtec isnt hitting.. could it be becuz my cluster is messed up?
