Default new Si today

Well, today's the day I pick up my new '07 Si from the delaer. I just hope I can drive it without screwing it up-I'm still new to the manual transmission!

I just joined this site and it looks great.

Has anyone made any mods to their '06/07 Si's that don't void the warranty?

The only performance mod you can do is an intake and some dealers let you get away with a cat back exhaust. How much did the new Si cost?

I LOVE this car.

I got the basic Si for MSRP and then added a few things- the Si protection package and fogs.

It seems pretty fast to me the way it is. Maybe down the road I'll want to tune it more. But its the forst really sporty car I've ever had.

I'll get some pics up soon!

Thanks!

I hope I don't burn out the clutch-still getting used to the six-speed!

Just don't pop it and you will be okay, It's under warantee and driver learning is acceptable but odvious abuse would not be.

Is it true that I have to keep the RPM's down for the first few hundred miles? I'm not driving it fast, but it's hard to keep shifting early enough to keep the revs down. The dealer told me I just shouldn't use the cruise control (wasn't going to, anyway.)

Normal brake in period is 600 miles for the S2000 (your hand book that came with the car should say) That means no VTEC (i-VTEC) or WOT (Wide Open Throttle) Keep the RPMs under 3500 if possible and try to get there slowly if possibly.

If you shift so low your car bogs (around 2,000 est.) and makes a funny noise thats your crank bearings not receiving lube which is very very bad so don't shift that low.

One of the other members posted up a link to a very good web site for leaning about a manual transmition and how to drive it better.
