I say that you should but the b-18 in the del sol but get the red cap v-tec in, it cost but like every one said to me (you get more bang for your buck) try jdmcarboy.com

Although I would like to get a B18c R, or a B18b R, they are so much more expensive than the B16A...
What is the difference between B16a and b16a2, and are there any emmisions issues with PA emmisions testing with any of these engines? What type of power gain would you get from this? I was also wondering what type of potential the B16A, B16B-R. B18C, B18C-R, and H22 had, and whether the B18, or the H22 would mess up handling, because I've heard that the H22 is too heavy.

the h22 does mess up handling in an eg6 and since it shares the same platform with the del sol i think it would do the same. However, the b18 on the other hand believe it or not does not, but it does mess up the balance of the car.

i have a del sol and can tell you almost anything you want to know... have done all the work myself and have done research on engine swaps. I have a si.. 1.6 SOHC vtec... there is no just bolt in swap... even the DOHC needs some adjusting with engine management systems and mounts... as well as tranny and such... if you are going to do a swap... hit the hmotors site for a complete swap... btw... i can put someone 6.4 in my sol without his head hitting the roof... :-)

There is no right or wrong to engine swaping... it all depends on weather you want high horspower for top end speeds or if you want high torque for out of the hole speeds... like in the engine i have i have a d16z which is 1.6 SOHC vtec... in compared to a b16... the b has a higher horsepower while the d has more torque... some say that the d when built right... is a much peppier engine....
