When was the last time you changed your fuel filter? That, and the above two ideas are a real good place to start. Oh, and check your antifreeze too. This sometimes makes your idle goofy.

Default Just got it

My wife just bought the car on the 26th of May. The oil looks fine, and so does the coolant. Is the fuel filter easy to get to? I am good with tools so I can do some maintenance.

OK, so I guess I will check the rear of the intake manifold and see what happens..........

Default Now what?

So I got a spare minute (3 kids, 2 jobs and 1 wife will keep a guy busy)
I took the intake tube off, and the two holes you speak of, well one of them was sucking pretty good and the other did not at all.

The upper one was doing the sucking, and when the idle went up and down, it sucked more when the idle went up and sucked less when the idle droped.

Is that some kind of sensor or something? There is some kind of valve or something just aft of this hole. Do I just spray a little carb cleaner in there to see if it loosens up and stops this "idle bounce"?

I will be right back...........

This will prob. worked but only temporarily. I cleaned out this valve on my civic and the problem went away for a few weeks. Good luck. I think a new one was about 200 bucks.

Sounds like it could be the IAC going out. If it is just searching or trying to maintain idle it is the IAC (Idle Air Control). Backside of Intake Manifold. Here lets make this easy----> http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1575913&page=1
