The guy is pretty uninformed IMO. Maybe I am, but my friends RSX was fast, no way it used an "economy" VTEC cam.
The tech at my dealership told me that I-VTEC came on in 2 stages, I don't what gives this guy more credibility.

the k20a3 is the only one with economy vtec, theres no second rocker arm for the cam and only has vtec on the intake cam, not exhaust. The a3 is find in the 01-05 si and the base model rsx's. i vtec is far better than vtec in the a2 and a motors... I vtec simply means theres a dual stage engagement... inteligent in a sense, first your motor goes from 3 valves per cylinder to 4, and then it swithces over to a faster rocker arm for more power
i vtec in the k20a2 and k20a are proven to produce a 40 whp gap

If cheap HP is your goal, B series all day long.
If you are willing to crack open the wallet, the K series has way more possibilities. Again, it all depends on the pocket book.

Of course the K is better. It has 200cc of extra displacement, and has an extra decade of Honda racing technology in it (aka A HELL OF A LOT MORE POTENTIAL!!! Less potential than the B, are you people serious?!?). Bs are cheaper because they suck sompared to Ks. But more cars can readily accept B-series engines.
