That should fit. That's only 20mm wider than stock and there's lots of room. The only thing I would worry about is bottoming out the tire in the fenderwell (although at stock ride height, that probably won't be a problem).
17's are huge on that car. Have you seen a CRX with 17s? I was consdiering buying one like that. They looked absurdedly large. 15 or 16s will be a bit better on something that small. |

Since its a smaller car I would go for 16s at the most

I picked up the rims after work yesterday and put them on the car, They are large lol but they do look oh so nice. lol. Compared to the rims that were on there. I was worried about bottoming out but after taking the car out for a spin through some pot holes and rough road it looks like with the stock ride height there is just enough room. Guess im going to have to sell the coil overs I got. Lowering it any would certianly bottom it out. ill be updating my pics tonight for anyone thats interested.

^ I second that motion. I've never seen a CRX with over 15's on it so I'm curious to what it looks like.

Is your CRX modded? Have your put more power into your engine? Be aware that bigger tires means heavier load to move.
I am not a big fan of big tires. My 14's Borbets and Sport A2s are all I need. |

Ok sorry for the delay on the pictures. They are coming. My camera died and I had to get a new one. Im detailing the car for her photo shoot and then once it gets a little cooler out ill take some shots. Its currently 110 out. The rims look good on the car, although ive essentially lifted the car about an inch to an inch and a half, so against my better judgment it looks like im going to have to do a body kit to make it look like its not on a lift kit. And I really dont want to rice it up. So any suggestions on body kits that keep the crx style with out ricing it out are appreciated.
As for engine power, I havent had the cash to do anything to it yet. I was looking into getting a B16 dropped into it, but the cheapest quote to date is about 6k and so that is going to have be put off until the money fairy arrives. I did do suspension, Tokico kit off of ebay. Its amazing how much of a difference they have made. I have sway bars and pillar bars on the way. Other than that, ive replaced the defective hood latch, put in a new black suede headliner, Projector halo head lights and am waiting on a new tail light setup, but according to UPS the people I ordered the tail lights from sent a shipping label and no lights so im waiting to hear back from them on that. Ive also go a new radiator, power windows and Bucket seats, Main relay, ignition coil and new ignitor on order. And you may ask well youve got all these things on order why not save for the Engine swap. I am putting away for the engine but am also getting the rest of the car cleaned up as well. Ive replaced cracked and old hoses, New platinum plugs, and wires, new filters all around, and replaced the PCV valve. The engine runs beautifully at idle and in cooler weather. But as soon as it gets hot which is after about 8am I get the stalling and stuttering. But the new rims really havent made that much of a negative difference in the way the car runs. Actually since ive put them on I get much better performance from the car. they seems to give me better grip, although thats probably just the tires but all in all the car seems to handle much better. So yes Pics are coming tonight. Last edited by Superman; 06-15-2008 at 07:27 PM. |

You can get away with your stock body kit if you get the right coilovers.
The coilovers you bought might just work out. Here's how to check: Put your car on jackstands and install the coilovers, sans the spring(s). Put on your wheel and lift it until it bottoms out. Then check to see if you have bottomed out the shock or the tire. Then go from there. Like I said, I have seen CRXs and 18s, so it's possible. I couldn't drive the car fast enough to see if it bottomed out, so I don't know how well it worked (the clutch was absolutely dead). |
