Default radiator core support question

I need to replace the core support on my car, I was wondering if anyone has done this? do you know if it bolts in or does it need to be welded.

Spot welded into place, but an easy job.

when I remove the old one, is it going to throw the front end out of whack?

a while back, some dude slammed on his brakes to a dead stop and I drove underneath his truck. It messed my hood up(which is why Im so excited about my new stock hood) but it also smashed the core support down and with the new hood, you can see that the gap between the hood and bumper is not right( i have a pic in my garage if you want to see exactly what I mean) So, I just want to replace it with a new core support

In the pic in my garage it isnt very noticeable, but the support is down so far, I had to modify the hood latch bolt holes( I had to move it up about an inch) to get the hood to latch correctly
