looking to do some upgrade to my suspension. i need to replace both lower control arms due to destroyer bushings and i thought while i am at it why not upgrade stuff. leaning toward kyb agx shocks and h&r springs. do not want to drop more than 2in at most. any advice on brands and price?

Usually it's better to go with a coilover kit that comes with its own springs. It's more expensive, but someone has already worked out what's best for your car. Unless you want to pull out a calculator and do some physics stuff to find the right spring rate, you're better off buying a ready-made kit. It will ride smoother and handle better than anything you piece together.

i did take that stuff in to account. i guess i was thinking the cheap way out. i guess my only concern is that the coilover kits that i have seen out on the market are names that i have never heard of or are brands that are extremely proud of their products. ie Tien. $$$$
right now i need to replace my head gasket so the suspension stuff will have to wait till at lest the summer. ![]() |

I second coilovers. They will ride the best and really don't cost much more than buying springs and struts.

Is your car turbo? If not, then that really sucks.

nope there is no turbo on it. it really sucks. i would liked to do a supercharger but there is no room in the budget for it. any ideas for the suspension as far as brand names and such.

Well, Tein may be "stuck on themselves" but they make good products, so consider them. Skunk2 or Buddy Club are good picks, but more expensive. So are JIC, Eibach, Neuspeed, Progress, HKS, or Koni (Ground Control). Eibach has a pretty good reputation, so I would go for them or Neuspeed.

In picking out parts for your car I would never go for CHEAP. Especially for suspension parts. I would say Tein or K Sport. Yes they are expensive but they have years of tuning under their belts.
Just don't go for a suspension kit on eBay that has a good price if you have never heard of the company. I figure you are relying on your suspension all day everyday so every thing else is self explanitory. Good Luck bro

Tein's Super Street coilover is a good compromise of price and performance. Plus I hear they are pretty comfortable. And I think you can upgrade to pillowball upper mounts and EDFC.

i dont really need the EDFC. no real justification for that for me. i do have some lowering springs from an RSX-S but i think that will lower the car a little too much. they came off a vehicle that hit a curb an bent the hell out of the struts. Working at a dealership you would be surprised at the amount of dumb customers that say they did not hit a single curb and are shocked when the service adviser says "it looks like you hit a curb". i ramble a little bit.
