Did anyone besides ever think it could posibly be the ignition switch located right behind the key lock cylinder? well that may actually be the problem. It happened to me in a 93 accord I used to have. They run for about $50-$70
Im nearly 99.9% sure thats your problem. let me know what happens

I have a 1993 Del Sol and had the engine just die as I was pulling into a parking lot. It started up right away but when I came back out of the store, it took a few tries to get it started again. I was able to get home but the car sat in the garage for a week and it started up right away, so I drove it to work. ~4 hours later it started fine but at the first stoplight it died and wouldn't restart. I had to have it towed home. I then had it towed to the dealer after failing to get the distributor cap off and they said the problem was a bad ignitor assembly (possible caused by a bad ignitor coil) but it turns out it was just the assembly (acccording to them anyway). Anyway, the assembly was $117 and labor was $187 for a grand total of $316 (with tax).

ouch...thats why whenever I buy a car on the way home I go by adavnce and get a haynes manual for it. they have a very handy troubleshooting section in the front and also include wiring diagrams...a wonderful investment for only $15

Well, I have the Honda Del Sol service manual but not the test platform to see what the problem was without having to go and test everything manually to see what the problem MIGHT be. I'm not a mechanic (or an electrical engineer). Hell, I couldn't even get the damn radiator hose off the engine block (whatever) in order to get the last screw off the distributor--the damn thing just wouldn't come off despite the clamp pulled off. And then what? The manual doesn't go into things step-by-step very well... Ah well; it's done. I hate cars. :P

don't give up on cars man. and you're right, most times the manuals won't go as in-depth as you need them to. i feel your pain. when i was first getting into cars, i was in the same position...hell, i didn't even know how to change a damn sparkplug...on my friend's EG6 in Japan, we pulled the valvecover off to take the spark plugs off...how retarded is that, i feel bad for his B16 anyway, online forums are definitely a good place to learn and ask questions. that's how i was able to learn a lot of the things i know about my car now. if you want, on the other forum i mod for there are a bunch of del sol owners, and they may be able to point you in the right direction. it's jdmchat.com, hopefully someone can help out there. good luck man, and don't give up on your car just yet. take care.
