Post full synthetic oil on old motor?

i have my crx and the motor is the original one d15b2 its been running on conventianol oil from previouse owner just sitten know gettin fixed up in my garage is it okay to go ahead and put in full synthetic oil or whats the best oil to put in aganst oil sluge and the motor has 177,000 miles on it?

to protect against slude you need an oil with a strong detergent (like pennzoil)...and unless you are going to rebuild the motor before driving it I would not convert over to synthetic!

Its not worth it to put in a full syn, you shouldn't see a big difference. Just use reguler oil that is designed for 75,000m or more. unless your doing what EyesofFreedom said "rebuilding the engine".
