Question cost...tranni switch in a 94 del sol si....?

ive had my little del sol for a while n was just wondering how much it may cost to switch my transmission...n such... im not really a brain when it comes to my car...all i kno is that its an auto...and it would be lots more fun to drive if it was a manual and lots more faster...also how much do you think it would cost me to get it repainted...i have tons of little dings and rust spots on it that i couldnt even count them....

it would cost about as much as it would to buy a dohc standard trans del sol it would probably be a whole lot easier to buy one too

do you have any idea what you are talking about? a tranny swap is not that expensive. Depending on what tranny you get, and were you get the work done. You could do the work yourself and get it done cheap.

Red face

what type of motor do you have in your del sol? B series or D series? the SOHC trannies are cheap as hell, and DOHC trannies don't cost that much either. so, it all depends on the motor you have, and what you wanna do.

i'll tell you that doin a auto-standard swap is a real pain in the sol they are hydrolic trannys. and a good amount of wireing its easier to just buy a manual del sol u can pick up a 94 si for around 3000 in excellent condition.

there are lots to change and not just the tranny ... wiring... your gage cluster and shifter... ecu chip and many other things like wiring harnesses and such... much easier to do a car swap... and much cheaper... lol...
