Default Civic hatchback help anyone?

Hello, i'm new as you can tell but i'm wondering. What honda civic hatchback is good from like the late 80's to early 90's, and if you know the benifits for the chassis and what not could list them.

Talking

go with either the EG chassis hatch from 92-95, or the EK chassis from 96-00. they are both good platforms, and have a lot of tuning potential with some work and the right motor and upgrades. there's also a lot of aftermarket support for these. or, you could go with a CRX, they're inexpensive, and awesome cars. the EF chassis cars from the 80s are cool, but i'm not sure of the aftermarket support for the EF civic hatches. i say if you're looking for a late 80s - early 90s chassis, go with a CRX. however, this is just my opinion, so please get a second one. lol. =) alohaz.

I agree that you should look at an EG, but the EF are cool in my book too. Get a 88-91 hatch or CRX. An Si hatch or CRX would be a great car.

Sorry for not saying the circumstances I am in. I usally drive more then 2 people in my car besides me which sorta gets rid of the CRX which is a two seater unless modified, which would be tight, and I was looking at the 92/93 civc si they have for sale in MN and some look pretty good. Or should I get a crx and do what I said which is pay for custom rear seats?

the 92-93 Si hatch would be great. I have a CX hatch with the Si motor, and it is fun to drive. That would be a great car. I would not recommend getting the CRX and then the seats in the back, they would be just about worthless, and not worth the money. There was an option to have rear seats in the CRX, but you never see them

i agree, go with the EG hatchback (92-95), they're nice, and the legroom in the back isn't bad either. and the 92-93 si hatch would definitely be cool and fun to drive. and these year model civics are also a lot cheaper nowadays.

Question!

I'm buying a '91 Civic HB CX...but I haven't heard mention of it anywhere or seen the "CX" model written anywhere on this site? It's not a CRX, and am wondering if it actually exists, or it's a spelling mistake, or what's up. Thanks

Biggest bang for the buck... 90-91 Civic Si-R with a B16A1 motor. 4th gen civics are the lightest and B16 DOHC motors produce good hp (160 bhp).
