So I know that the EL and the Civic are essentially the same car.
Anyways I wanted to know if I buy an exhaust system for a civic, will it fit my EL? If so, what model of civic parts will work for the EL (Si, lx, etc...) Thanks. |

The 2000 Acura EL 1.6 used a D16Y8 motor
That motor was also used in the 96-00 EX in the USA, the 96-00 Si in Canada, and the 96-97 Del Sol Si. The 2000 EL was 176.3" long The 96-00 Civic coupe and sedan were 175.1" long That doesn't guarantee that it will fit, but it sounds like it should be close if Honda didn't change the exhaust design for the EL

Yea maybe I'll talk to the mechanic whos working on the suspension at my dads work (Acura Dealership) he might know.
The reason I ask is I plan on putting a MagnaFlow exhaust on it to give it a nice tone (not a fart can sound) because the engine and car are very quiet and I like to hear my revs a little bit. Plus I'll score about 10 extra horse and 12pnds of torque from it which would be nice, with a car like that I need every extra horse I can get haha. |
