Unhappy Went through a big puddle of water...

Ok, so I was doing my morning commute to work in the middle of a somehow heavy rain. Must be kinda heavy because it was flooding certain parts of Route 22.

But nothing happened there. I get into the backroads, and without noticing, I went into a puddle of water, about a foot high. The car stuttered, and it would shake badly. Engine light turned on, and the car would stall and shut off at 1st gear, and shake at 2nd and 3rd.

I still went to work. When I left, the car felt better, but not so much. For instance, the RPM needle would never fall below 1,000 even at idle. Now, it goes really close to 0. Also, the car feels kinda sluggish, like it has lost a lot of power.

My buddy made a light check. He checked the spark plugs next to the engine, filter, and so far everything is alright, but the engine light still comes on.

Oh, and also my left wheel cap went flying as a result of the hit.

Need some help.

Tomorrow I am going to check it with the computer and hopefully nothing really that bad is going on.

Doing it tomorrow.
I've checked around, and so far, it could be the ignition coilover. Whatever it is, I just want my baby running like before.

Ok, I just checked the car now and so far everything seems fine. The engine light is off now. The car seems to run fine. Apparently it need it to dry out.

That's what happens when you use a cai, gotta be careful going through puddles where the filter can get submerged, luckily you didn't suck up too much water

I am not using a CAI. My car is stock.
Maybe a wire got wet. My buddy said that there is little chance an engine can suck up water even with a foot high water puddle.

I've seen the carnage of hydro locking a motor and it ugly.
Your problem sounds like a problem I ran into with my hatch back. I hit a deep puddle and splashed water all over my motor and it got inside the ditribtor and was causing a short on the lower contact point of the rotor. once it dried up it was fine.
