Correct 90crxowner...it most likely was the distributor cap.
CAI's get a bad rap and its not thier fault. A properly installed CAI will only pull up water if it is submerged...the same as a stock airbox. 99% of CAI's are improperly installed so thats why the engine is damaged...people not taking time to do it right.
