Cool Black interior 07 SI

Does anyone have any tips for keeping the black suede interior clean??

I am finding that it attracks every little bit of lint, hair, etc.

I was hoping that there was some kind of repellent spray to use on it, but can't seem to find anything. I've got a light color dog and even though she has never been in my car - her hair gets in there!

I don't mind using the vacuum once a week while its summer, but come fall and winter I don't think I am really going to feel like continuing this.

The only thing I have heard that may work is using Static Guard spray, but it says to use it, wait one minute and then vacuum. That may be fine, but I was hoping for something that would help keep the stuff off the seats before I get to the vacumming point.

Thanks,

Default Seat covers

You know, I did think about seat covers, but being a woman, I am a bit vain about my car and would really hate to cover up the nice embroidered Si that's in the back of the seat

With my last car, I put away the good floor mats and used some old ones I had. When we moved, I discovered we lost the brand new floor mats I was kinda upset since I was saving them "for later" and the "for later" never came for me.

So I guess I've decided that just like with anything new or nice, if I want to keep it that way it will take a little effort. I just try not to let myself get too anal when I see some fuzz or something on my seats

Thanks for the ideas-

What I did on my black leather seats was use convertible top cleaner...it has an antistatic agent in it and it repelled dust...unfortunately you cant use it on a vinyl dash...mine is a dust magnet.

just go to walmart or your local auto parts store and look for the spray bottle in the car cleaning/wax section...it says anti static on the bottle.

Thumbs up Anti-static spray

There we go - now that's what I'm talkin' about

I went to Walmart when I first got my car and got some of the usual cleaning items but didn't realize I would be having this problem with the upholstery. I have been to our local auto parts and they didn't have anything like that.

Guess where I'm headed tomorrow - Walmart!!

Thank you for the great tip - hopefully it's safe for the interior (I will read the package before purchasing/using).

Whatever you use test it out on a hidden part of the seat first, the microfiber suede that Honda uses in our seats is pretty different, and does wear very quickly.

I have seen Sis that have had leather seats (covers) put in at the dealership with the Si logo on them that look really nice, but I don't think I could handle black leather, especially with all the heat the massive windshield lets in.

I only did that once!

Default Leather tops

Ah, that makes more sense. I spoke with the gal at the Walmart and she hooked me up with some silicone spray that you use for waterproofing boots, tents, clothes, etc. I bought it, but didn't think I should really use it.

I do occasionally smoke in the ride and I sure would hate to drop a hot or something and go up in flames. I don't know if that would happen, but it sure would not be something I would look forward to happenning!

I did purchase one of those sticky lint roller deals, but luckily the I have been able to just pick off the larger pieces of hair and etc. and find myself able to live with the other small pieces of stuff that accumulate (so far). Like I said before, in summer a good vacuuming once a week should take care of it, but when winter comes, that may be another story.

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll have to mull on the leather top stuff though.
