Default 91 Si Swap?

Pound for pound here... what is the best swap for my 91 hb si? PRICE/LABOR/PEFORMANCE ratio. Is it wise to go with the B-16? I am a noob... but hey... im a body man. But i DO want the best!

Well depends on your buget having to pay for labor is going to kill you. I would recommend whatever you get to change all the seals and such on the motor. Even though it might not have high miles you are still swapping in a older engine. B16 is going to cost more no doubt about it. Labor will probably running you 500 and up depends on where you live and who you know.

If you need to keep things cheap do a D15B swap and then save for a turbo. Will get way more bang for you buck. Will have around 130 hp right after the swap for about 400 bucks. Where is a B16 cost more like a grand I think for 30 more HP.

Good luck. My friend had a B16A and put down under 160 (158 to be exact) with AEM intake, Rage header, Apexi exhaust, Toda cams. Unless you really make the car not streetable or don't plan on keeping it along time it will be difficult.

the key is knowing what parts correspond with your motor and tuning it right...not just throwing on any part. ive seen 238 all motor whp from a b16 and it was fully street legal

Getting 100 HP on a car that will last over a week street driven is going to be your problem. getting a B16 into the 200's is pretty much a cake walk in comparrison to 300. If you do it you can walk Corvettes with ease.

*did you look at your post in the thread labeled "hard top" in the S2k fourm?
