what I think he means is that, if you dont have the slightest clue of what you're doing, you're better off getting someone qualified to do the job. From personal experience, its quite dangerous. The spring can burst with trmendous force if you dont do it right during disassembly, and the assembly part can be a bitch if you dont have a spring compressor.

I haven't done mine yet but my friend has with his civic, i helped him a little but it's pretty easy. Just make sure you have a car manual beforehand in case you screw up you know what to do. Also do it when you have a lot of time. They say it takes a day, but the first time you do something like that it might take longer. There's no counting how many times I expected something to take a few hours, but hold me back for a few days.

If you have to ask that it is best you buy your springs and find a tuner shop to install them for you...preferably one that can check and adjust the alignment if necessary because when you mess with the front struts you will most likely need to realign the front end.

If not handled properly the strut mounting plate can cause serious injury or even death...and also if you need shims or adjustments you wont be riding around in an unsafe vehicle going to the alignment shop...been there, done that!

I dont know where you are at but a shop in savannah will install for $129 if you supply your springs...and that includes an alignment
