Default Alpine Deck Problems

So i bought my car with an Alpine CDE-9845 deck in it, and i was pretty syked since Alpines are known for their quality. Lately though it seems to want to turn off and then on agian whenever I change gears (particularly 3rd to 4th at around 4 or 5000 RPMs) So i was wondering if anyone can tell me if it would just be from bad connections from someone who didn't know what they were doing or if it would be that my car doesn't have enough watts to handle it?

Also whenever i go over a bump in the road (not small ones, but it doesn't have to be very bug either) the CD skips. Is this typical of Alpines or could it just be my suspension is that bad? I had a Pioneer in my Dodge Neon and it never had any problems, unless I went over huge bumps.

Could just be an old CD player. My dad's CD player will skip and sometimes refuses to play burned cds. His car is an '05 (130K miles), with the factory Toyota CD deck.

If it is an OLD Alpine they will skip alot. Even with small scratches it might skip b/c they had a very tight tolerance for sound quality. With a brand new CD it would sound awesome.

The newer CD players can take a little more shaking.

Any CD player will age and when it does, it stops reading discs. My DVD player at home is having the same problem. After about 10 minutes it freezes up.
