Unhappy 98 civic rear speaker removal

okay i got some new door and deck speakers for car and had no problem changing out the door speakers, but the back deck speakers look like they are gonna give me a problem. if anybody knows how to change out the rear deck speakers it would be alot of help i am trying to do it myself.

theres about 4 bolts u have to take off for the deck to come out the speakers have to go in from the top but the bolt have to be taken out from the trunk

cool deal thanks everywhere else i looked was telling me i had to remove my back seat and the side panels. i will try that the on my next day off.

Yeah when I had my 99 I did it though the truck. Might want to do it in the evening or early in the morning get hot real fast. Not sure where you from but something to keep in mind.

ok i took a look at the back deck closely today and it looks like i also have to remove the side panels in the back in order to get out the back deck. and it does get hot fast here in north carolina

well i finally had the time to work on my rear deck and it wasn't as hard as i thought it to be, the hardest part was getting the pegs outt that hold the side panels in after that is was a piece of cake. and the new speakers sound way better then the factory.

Actually the chilton's manual describes how to replace the front speakers only.

Civicbrat, can you describe your procedures on how you replaced your rear speakers? Did you have to remove the side panels?

And yes, I did do a search, a Boolean on google led me here, sadly enough this is one of the fewer threads that describe how, but it is incomplete.
