Please be a bit more specific.
What stereo are you using? What subs? amp? etc.
Describe the install wiring.

I am assuming that is the hot...so did you run a ground from the adapter to the frame...if so there is your problem.

To remove the engine noise you need to ground the circuit on the same system as the wire you tapped into is.

Just pull it all out and re-wire it...crossed wires and stuff can cause major issues..

ok so iv figured out that i have a ground for the hot ipod wire but that wasnt the problem it was a falty connector in the front right door thats why the locks were acting up as for the sub noise i still cant figure it out theres somthing wrong between the deck and the wires and the amp except iv replaced the signal wires its either the power wire to close to the other wires but that dosnt make sense because the power, signal and rem wires were all together when it was first installed and i could play with the settings on the amp and it all worked without any noise and without any interfierence i think there was a back surge when i dropped my wrench on the speaker wires and i think it went all the way to the deck so now i have the power wire run down the side the rem and signal wires run down the middle and the power wire and signal wires have to cross but iv got it set to where the dont touch and they've got about half a foot between the wires but i dont think thats the problem i think its the deck now because i have a capacitor i have the wries run seperatly and i still get the noise to go away o and i replace the amp as well aahhhh i still cant figure it out

Check the grounds under the hood of the car and the grounds on the amp. Make sure they are all tight and have good connection. If it sounds like you have a whining noise coming from the speakers its either a grounding problem or the alternator needs to be changed out.

He may have kinked/knicked a wire...it doesnt take much to damage.

Or possibly a loose connection on the sub itself.
