Please everyone, think before you race on the street. Track days are cheap, safe, and give you real bragging rights over other drivers (kinda hard to BS timeslips). And if you crash, there is a trained safety crew and ambulance there to help you out. You can't say the same for the street. Remember, even drivers who shouldn't drive still have a right to the road.

i agree with you both even tho i love going fast (i think we all do) but the real sport starts on the track not on the streets

Despite everyone's efforts to move things back to the track, where things belong... it won't happen. There are always going to be those stubborn fools, who create a bad name for car enthusiasts. Who feel the need to act like idiots and do donuts in the middle of the freeway, in hopes of gaining some sort of street credit.

Personally, I can't say that I haven't raced on the street. I have. But I don't anymore. Too many people die; too many people get hurt by someone's dumb decisions. Cars are great and we love them. But there's also the factor of respecting them. They're machines. Large, heavy, dangerous if messed with inappropriately... machines. The only control they have, is the control through you. Too many people lose that control and don't have the response time to be able to harness it within seconds. Too many people get hurt and killed from idiotic mistakes.

Going to the track might cost you ten bucks... but heading to the street might cost you or someone else their life.

Sorry for the rant. It's just something to think about... I have pretty strong views on that subject...

c'mon, I race my CRX all the time....I have to really, its an 85 crx hf....thats 1.5L carb injected. It makes about 70 hp downhill with a tailwind (but it gets over 40mpg). I've gotta race it just to keep up with traffic! But with anything else I currently or have ever owned, it got raced on the track with the exception of my motorcycle....but theres a reason I don't own it anymore.

I am an X street racer since I had one friend wind up dead and another in jail for vehicular homicide. Please keep it on the track people.

i know we all like to go fast and once in a while race someone on the highway but its really not worth it because u may end up just fine nothings gonna happen or u may end up being dead or car accident. and isnt it the reason that we have tracks?

everyone makes great points. personally, i LOVE to speed. but i am NOT reckless !!!! so, if I put myself in danger, it's MY OWN fault. but i NEVER put other passengers or other vehicles in danger.
