go with your intuition and gut feel... just focus on making it functional, not exceptional, and you'll be fine!!!

The trick is finishing the race without wrecking. That's why we bought a Japanese compact. We can avoid accidents instead of creating them.

Our race is in Connecticut. You are definetely welcome to join us, but if you want to drive, we charge a fee. I don't know what it is yet (since so far the only person to put any money into this thing is me), but when I do, I can let you know. I was telling my team $200 minimum, but it kind of depends on how much the cost is.

It'd be worth it, tell me when it is so i can come out a week early and help you prep the car.

P.S- a car in primer is worth less, even less with spraypaint on it. And if you can find a gauge cluster that says 200k+ you'll fit right into the $500 or less. And your gonna have to hide any mods you do, may be included in the total price of the car. So engine internals, using a bigger stock intake such as off a 5th/6th gen SI. Trick them into thinking its about bone stock when its not. Which means no coilovers, and painting everything flat black then letting them sit in grease for a week. I did that for a while at SCCA events so I could race stock class in a non-stock car. I know its wrong but I couldn't compete with this one guys stock 2005 SI.

One car per team. Hey if you can find another car, make your own team. Check their site, there might a be race nearby to you.

$500 per car, $100 per driver. And you need to have a racing license. All the info is on their website.

Well the race just got a lot more serious. A driver (Court Summerfield) died over the weekend in Altamont. However they say he was unconscious before the crash, so it might not have been race related. I hope not, that would really put a damper on the mood there.
