That would be killer. Right now my head and jug are at the machine shop getting bored to a 425. It is also getting stroked and is still going to be sprayed. I think its gonna be a blast. I am also changing the Hot Cam to a Web 9I with over sized valves and titanium springs and retainers. It is going to be rediculous! But I bet it would be a fun run.

Just get us some dyno runs. I am dieing to know what its pushing.

Me too. I just want to drive the **** thing. But we keep breaking parts. Today, we had to re-weld the radiator drain tube, the fuel tank brackets, the radiator brackets, and we are still sorting out the wiring. And that's just from driving lightly up and down the parking lot to break in all the systems. The thing shakes really bad and just rattles everything to bits. We actually need another engine mount to pass tech.

The engine? Yes. It has these really thick steel mounts welded to the frame and the biggest bolts I have ever seen. We still need a top mount though. Fitting it is going to be tough becuase there is almost no more room for extra systmes in the car.

Car is nearly done!!! I should be getting more pictures on Monday and maybe a video or two. They tested the car behind our shop and basically ran a mock competition (acceleration, braking, endurance, skid pad, etc). No leaks and nothing broke. It even started up with no problems (we had been having electrical issues).

When we were at the dyno last week, we found out our fuel injector was clogging up (which was why the car was backfiring through the intake. It's not cool when your intake blows up every time you start the car). So we replaced the injector and bought a new fuel pump (the one we had been using could support about 800 hp, much more than we need. It was so big, it was killing the battery). Anyway, now all we have left is body work and final tuning of the suspension and engine. The car is killer.

Before the injector went on us, the car was making 35 horsepower, far from the 60 we would like.

OK, final numbers!!! We made 39 peak horsepower after 4 runs on the dyno today. However, what is more impressive is the 54 lb-ft of torque we made on the same pass. This is in a 410 lb car. Wicked fast.

For comparison, our old car made 60 hp, 35 lb-ft torque, and weighed about 530 pounds.

Once we're done bodywork, that's it! We will be testing the car over the next few weeks and we leave for competition on June 24.

We leave for Competition on Tuesday. Wish us luck! I'll try to get the results and some pics up when I get back.

I made it back alive. We did pretty well. I'm going to write up a full recap of the last 6 days, so it will take a while. I have lots of pics and even some video of the event. Lots of neat stuff there.

Update on Lemons too in that thread.
