In order to beat your brother with a civic you are going to need forced induction (turbo or supercharger). Id also recommend putting in front and rear bracking, suspension, a big brake system and beefy tires otherwise you are going to fly off the first curve you hit.

Down right cheapest way is to spray it. You will need a large wet shot. I don't think your motor will hold it so I DO NOT recommend it but you wanted to know cheapest and thats it.

HondaClub is not responsible if you blow your motor on this advice.

I wouldn't put a huge shot of nitrious on it with out some motor work. But hes right thats the easiest hp gain. But after a few hits of that say bye bye to your motor.

My cheapest way? Drop in a new race ready street legal engine.

It'll set you back about $2000 but it's almost the last thing you'll need to buy!

Where will you find a race engine for $2000? I can buy a Dart Block for about that but not a whole engine.

You can buy used engines from Japan that have been reconditioned / rebuild and have upgraded internals. Its not a new race engine, but its close to that price and for performance purposes.
