Hello Honda owners!
I just joined the club, and hope to share the delightful agony of restoring my beat up Accord with all of you. Last year I got myself a 97 Accord LX (F22B2). I love it dearly, although it needs a ton of work. The previous owner had a "minor" door "problem" that resulted in it being replaced (front driver's side), and now there's annoying wind noise at speeds above 65mph. At 100mph it sounds like the bloody Niagara Falls. Maybe it's my damaged left ear (my world is more mono than yours), but I can't figure out where the wind noise comes from. Is it the weatherstripping that's bad, or the left AC vent? Could it even be the window seals? It's killing the sound from my cheap, plasticky, low-wattage aftermarket stereo set. Maybe someone has solved this problem before? |

I assume the weatherstipping is not damaged? While driving, try to pull the window frame against the car, if that reduces the wind noise either the seal has taken a 'set' or the door needs to be adjusted. I just replaced the weatherstrip (fairly easy, toughest part is undoing the link that limits door opening) on my wife's 93 LX for the same reason, but I haven't driven it on the highway yet to know if it solved the problem.

i have an easy cheap solution for the meanwhile but it requires a little bit of know how.. u need wd40 or some sort of lubing silicone and a phillips head driver and needle nose pliers. take the door panel off and spray the tracks for the window regulator whenever movement happens after that spray a little bit around the moldings the window sits in around the door the air noise on my car was comming from the top back part of the front window cuz it wasnt seating in that corner i did the lubricating and its gone.. now im not saying this is the correct way to do it and every1 has ideas but it worked for me 3 years ago and i still drive tha car daily good luck

also if the door frame is bent roll the window all the way down and put ur knees in the door while sitting in the car. pull the top part of ur doow towards you a little bit at a time thatll hopefully straighten the top of the door if its warped.....a body shop will tell u they realigned ur door and charge you 150 - 200 $ just to bend that part a little bit and theyll tell you u need to keep it there 4 the day for 2 min of work
