Hi there. If you take off steering wheel & center it, it may look ok but your front wheels would still be runnin out of line. Usually when steering wheel is sitting in wrong position, u should also notice front tyres wearing unevenly to one side. Getting the steering aligned properly makes the car feel & steer much better especially in the wet. Most tyre fitting shops usual carry out this service. Highly reccommened if steering wheel is off centre.

Camber or alignment usually leaves it with 'one directional' pulling. Most times that the car 'wanders' left and right is from worn tie rod end bushings. It is usually caused by lack of lubrication but sometimes rough roads...especially dirt ones...have been known to wear out tre bushings on cars only a few years old.

With the car parked, squat down by your tire as if your checking air pressure or tightening lugnuts. Grab the tire and try to twist it...like the car was driving and turning left and right. If you can 'wabble' it without extreme resisitance, the tie rod end NEEDS to be replaced. Do both sides because when one wears out...they both usually wear out. And with this being a critical part of the steering system I would STRONGLY recommend replacing the AS A PAIR.
