I think that it is a good design for power, but matching it up with an auto doesn't make sense.
If they made a manual with the current accord hybrid engine design and a auto with something more along the lines of the civic hybrid then that would work, but I just don't think honda made a good move building an auto accord hybrid for power. What do you think?

i think that they should make the auto, look at it this way. A male/female comes along, wants a car that has a lot of room, and won't take a lot of maintaince. So the look at Accord. Then they want good gas mileage, so the hybrid accord. the accord will have more room then the civic, and will also fit a family better. if the family is in the city they're not going to want a manual. just an easy drive. the owner of the car isn't going (if its an older person with a family. im talkin average. you older car guy/girls that still have a need for large power don't count, cause you wouldn't be buying this anyway.) to want a boat load of power. there not going to care about that, they just want the safety, good mpg, reliable, and roomy car. does that make sense? lol. things make more sense in my head. haha

okay, after reading that a few times, I think I know what you mean.
![]() A hybrid that fits the profile of, well, a hybrid with an auto would be great for most people. When my dad totalled his accord and bought the one he has now (the deal was done less than an hour after the accident) He never even test drove the hybrid, it was just too much more for such a slight increase in fuel efficiency, especially once you factor in battery cost. I love the idea of using the electronic engine for more power, something only the accord hybrid and one lexus have done to my knowledge, but it just doesn't sell. ![]()
