So when my car has been running for apprx. 1 hour my Check Engine light will come on, then turn off if i shut my car off then start it up again. Its a 93 Accord. Would anyone know why? i haven't felt any difference or seen any thing wrong when it is on.
then second my car will have the abs light come on, but it still works fine and the brakes don't lock up, even when i do slam on the brakes. again, why?

when my abs light came on, it ended up being a rusted out wheel sensor for one of the rear wheels.
Also if your check engine light went on, and then off, it could have been a faulty glitch in the computer.

the abs sensor can also be low fluid or time to change the fluid or the sensors on the hub need to be replaced. With the check engine light your computer stores all the codes that come on when a check engine light appears, run the codes to see what you get.

IF the ABS light is on, the ABS may not be working correctly. If the system detects a problem, it will essentially disable ABS and will revert to normal braking. Easy way to check is to stomp the brakes on wet pavement (make sure no one is close behind you!), if the wheels lock up and there is no quick pulsing in the brake pedal, ABS is not working.
