I'm lost without you

lol when then u are set. wish i had a mechanic like that in my family. If i do decide to buy a turbo i either gotta read up and do the tunein myself, or send it to the Twin Cities prolly to get it tuned. honestly i don't now the stock figures for ur car or the figures for 6lbs. of boost on any other car, but i would have to say you'd prolly be lookin at an increase in anywhere from 60-100HP. beaters, primetime, and dre can give u a more specific guesstimate though... alot more specific. and from what i've been told you pretty much have to upgrade the fuel system with the turbo. like the fuel pressure regulater and a few other things. There is and article about turboing in the Articles forum for more info. It's under the Information forum... here's the link

Also supercharger kits for 94-97 Accords are super hard to find. When I had my Accord I wanted to look into doing it but after a few days of looking for a S/C I gave up on it. I mean you can always figure out how to make your own kit though. 6-8 lbs of boost on your car should honestly put you in the 200 hp range. But thats with a really good tune.

I would do a compression check on the motor and if all is well turbo it. Running about 8lbs would work great. The tranny will probably be the first thing to go b/c its the weakest link. But then again your foot has a lot to do with the longevity of anything.

Ok, been busy, so let me try to answer everything I can.
If it's your grandma's car, then it's and auto, right? Junk that SOB right away and swap in a stick. Honda autos (and any other Japanese auto except the 350Z auto) are notoriously weak. You will need a rebuild just to prevent it from burning up the first time you try boosting. This is a job best left to a transmission shop. As much as you hate shops, you're going to have to find one to help you out on this. If you want the most power you can get, you are going to need a find a dyno and a tuner. Unless you have years of experience tuning air/fuel ratios, it is best left to someone who has. Hondas are stout. 100K miles is nothing. As long as the timing belt has been done already, then you're set for boost. Read that turbo article. Lots of good info there. The biggest Honda 4-cylinder is the K24A2. But the hot swap for your Accord is the H22 from the Prelude. Sport Compact Car has an article on how to do the swap. Make sure you get the transmission for this to work. 7 pounds of boost will add about 70-80 horsepower, depending on what engine, turbo, and setup you have. Since your stock engine is rated at about 140 hp, that's a nice jump. The H22 has more power, I think 160.

Nothing wrong, just assumed. Good for her. In that case, your trans is fine, no need for a rebuild (same with the engine).

But you may down the road need to put a stronger clutch in it that will be able to support that power..
