Hello All:
Have a '99 EX 4 door 2.2L 5-speed, 121,000 miles. Recently, it's been finicky as to starting. Turn the key to "on", have plenty of power, crank it, nothing happens at all. I have to try turning the key 4-5 times before it'll start. I'm thinking a problem with the ignition switch? Anyone ever have a similar problem? Anyone have an idea? Thanks! |

By nothing happens, you mean the starter is not turning? Sounds like an old starter. You can buy one at Autozone. Remember to clean the starter terminals while you have the motor off.

Check your ground wires and make sure they are all tight. If they are good get your battery checked cause it might be time. Then if thats not it I would check the starter since that would be the most work. Just go from the easiest to the hardest.
