Default Fuel pump comes on 98% of the time

I need help. I have a 94 accord. I thought the fuel pump went out one day when it didn't want to start. I listened and didn't hear the fuel pump come on when I put the key to on. It did some times but didn't other times. I figured it had to be the fuel pump going out. So I changed it along with the filter. Now I have done dist. cap, plug wires, plug and changed air filter. I still have the same problem. Everytime I hear the fuel pump the car starts but sometimes after short trips when I try to start the car I don't hear the fuel pump and the car won't start. I don't know what else to do. Now I just keep turning the key on and off until I hear the fuel pump and then start it.

I thougth maybe it was electrical...where is this relay located? Is it under the dash or in the engine compartment? Thanks for confirming. Someone else told me it was a relay. I hope this fixes it. THANKs again.

if u are decent with wrenches you DO NOT NEED TO TAKE DASH APART , I did 2 of these yesterday on Accords 91 and a 93 , all you do it remove the 2 bolts holding the cruise control box up let it hang down and move it to the side use a long socket wrenche and take out the 2 bolts holding the main relay in place , pull it out and fix it , or replace it , I fix em simply because they last alot longer when u solder them yourself , but if its easier for you just buy one and replace it ,,, good luck
