Unhappy Wheel Vibration Problem

My 98' Accord Coupe EX vibrates at certain speeds. At 50 & 70 MPH the steering wheel vibrates very strongly. at other speeds its not nearly as bad. Could it be a strut problem? I do also hear a sould like something is loose under my driver's side front wheel when driving at low speeds. I took the wheel off myself, but couldn't find anything. A little help, please?

I would look at getting your tires balanced. That might be the problem, hope that helps.

sounds about right to me...

most times it happens only at certain speeds it is either the balance or an aftermarket rim needs hubcentric rings...and since you didnt mention buying new rims...

even if the tires were balanced recently, recheck them...you can actualy fling off wheel weights...

tho loose sound is hopefully a coincidence...because nine times out of ten a vibration and a loose metal clunking sound is the result of a busted or damaged strut maounting plate...

You May also want to look at yoru sway bar end links for the a possible canidate for your lows speed rattling.

Strut mount bad usually will make a heavy clunk sound. And I just found out through my own experiences that if the sway bar end links go bad it makes a rattle noise that sounds like a loose heat shield. Sway bar end links are not to expensive. For the front My 03 accord is a J-spec and was 30 bucks for the front ones

for the shaking its most likely either your front tires out of balance or they are worn out
