Default Help me decide if I should get an Accord

After years of dealing with GM I am ready to make a switch. I currently have a 2000 Grand Prix GTP. I am looking at a 4 cylinder 2003 Accord EX Coupe. I just don't know if I can give up my supercharged V6 but the reliability I hear of is really making me consider it. Does anyone have any wisdom or advice for me about anu od this???

I highly doubt any force inducted vehicle (with exception to diesel) will out live a naturally asperated vehicle. Honda and Toyota are well know for reliable cars. I believe the Accord to be a better styled car than many of the Toyota family. I would make the switch hands down. NA cars also get better gas milage and are cheaper on insurance. (except for the age difference in the cars)

You may want to consider a slightly older accord V6, the 4cyl accord will probally seem underpowered

hi, i'm new here... bla bla bla...
get an accord, or civic. Manual = more fun and better on gas.
you dont need the v6. 4cyl's are pretty snappy. go test drive one

Man I was a bowtie lover hardcore! I mean for years and years and finally got tired of replacing parts...not as much as on a f*ckin ford but no where near what my neighbor and best friend were doing with their HMC's!

Its hard to let go...but from someone who was in the same position as you...its a good step to make. And if you wanna sell that V6, dont wait too long. Since gas has gone up all the car lots around here-new and used-are full of V6 and V8's and Hondas and other 4 cyl are selling as soon as they get them!

agree with this..get an acord or civic, that's good enough but v6 will surely make you happier...

We had a 2002 Accord LX V6 it was quick and fair on gas mileage. Just got a new 2007 LX V6 it is quicker than the 02. Get a late model Accord V6 you can alway trade down to a 4 Cyl if need be,, but it is hard to go up to a V6 from a 4. Price that is....

I bought my used 2004 accord 4cyl coupe less than 5 months ago, i sold my beloved V8 truck that had tons of power, but gas was an unreal issue. I can tell you honestly that i have not looked back. I am a gear head at heart, owned many powerful mustangs and camaros, and i just needed something to get around in, and I found it. I was looking for a V6 and would have loved to get one, but i found a deal on my 4cyl that was too good to pass up, so i got it and the power is pretty peppy to me, you'd be suprised, test drive both of them and see how they are, the V6 and the 4cyl are pretty comparable in reliability and in gas, allthough the 03 accords had some issues in their engine and tranny from what i hear- just because im guessing it was the first year out. The V6s will also need the timing belt changed at somewhere around 60k (quicker than a 4cyl may need) I bought mine at 60k and now it has around 64k still going strong. Good luck

Wife and I have a 93 Accord coupe and back in 2001 we bought a Passat (Suckers wanted). The Accord cost us less than one tenth what the "superior" German car cost us everything considered (gas, repair etc.). Got rid of the veeduhb and bought a very clean used 04 Accord 4dr. We did this because we need to have the available dollars for our house makeover. I know about Toyota reliability, but I'm not a big fan of their styling. We prefer Honda. Also doesn't hurt that we have a top level certified Honda service tech that does a ton of stuff on the side. The guy takes the passenger seat out of his 88 accord and puts a compressor in its place so other than major work, we get professional service right in our driveway or his if we bring it to him. Bonus!

Make the switch. Smart financial decision that you'll never regret. 4cyl isn't exactly a slowpoke
