I've owned a French Bulldog. They're great dogs. I currently have a Bull Mastiff (very well trained and not aggressive at all). He's probably the most well trained dog I've ever met. I rescued him when he was 3 years old. Didn't intend on getting such a big dog, but couldn't let him go because he had so much potential. I currently volunteer for 3 local animal rescue organizations- German short haired pointers, Boxers, and French Bulldogs. All are great dogs.
