octane booster supposedly boost the octane of the gas you are burning. In most instances if would take several gallons of the stuff to really notice a change in the performance of the car-which is still only a very slight change. Instead of buying it and taking a chance that it will do nothing, just get premium gas. Unless you have a few grand under the hood you will not need anything higher than 93 octane, so no, it is not worth buying. By running higher octane than neccessary it can also cause some serious problems for your car. Check your owners manual and see what the minimum requirement is for you make and model and go to the pump that is the next step up.
But if still you want more, you can also take a quarter of a moth ball per every ten gallons of gas and have the same or better result than any octane booster on the market. Just be careful, because extreme use of any additives in your gasoline to improve performance WILL cause premature failure of your catalytic converter-very expensive!-and other problems like detonation, hotter running motor, poor starting, etc.
