JP,

I dont think you'll get a lot of posts here from NSX owners. You'll probably want to go to the NSX club forum and I bet a lot of them have owned both. They might be able to tell you more.

You have a beautiful s2k, I was looking at NSXs at one point and decided that I could either have an NSX with a lot of mileage at my maximum price point, or have something like an s2k and stick all the goodies on it for quite a bit less. Really, to get a nice, clean, well taken care of late 98 to early 00's NSX your looking at 40-50k with about 30-50k miles.

Also consider that if you do want to upgrade it, parts are 2 or 3 times more expensive than the s2k (aftermarket for sure, probably also parts from Honda). For example the Comptech Supercharger is around 10-12 grand if I recall. Also think about other costs and see if its a good investment for you long term.

Super cars are super expensive. Unfortunately there is nothing super about the performance of their 90s versions anymore because as time goes on all of these cars are getting more efficient and are producing more power due to better engineering. If you like having that high redline that makes your feel like your on a bike than in a car, the 90s NSX might not be what you are looking for. They have 260 hp at a redline of 6.6k. You could whip up on one of these with a lightly tuned s2k all day long. In the early 00's they bumped it to 290 hp at a redline of 7.1k. Still its not 9 grand, but its got some reasonable horspower at this point and the additional torque provided by a bigger engine. (With a supercharger running 6-10 lbs, you could out perform this newer model in an s2k)

So to really get that extra umph that you are looking for you'd probably want the model upgrade which will be reflected in their price points. At the end of the day, its going to be a balance between your wallet and looks.
