The NSX was the closest thing to a Honda F1 car back in the day. It was built from an all aluminum frame (a first for any production car), and had a high revving VTEC engine, which still sets the benchmark for NA horsepower/liter ratio. Like the S2K, most mods to the NSX will result in no power gains, or even a power loss. Chassis tuning was tested by Ayrton Senna himself, who signed off on the chassis design. Probably what made the NSX so successful was not it's perfromance, but the reliability that came with it. It was as reliable and comfortable as an Accord. And for all this, the NSX could be had for less than half of any of its competitiors. Ferrari, Lambroghini, and McLaren all went running back to the drawing boards to match the NSX's traits.
If you compare Acura to Ferrari, the NSX is the Enzo, and the S2000 is the 360 Modena. Sure, the 360 is almost as fast and has better technology, but it doesn't make people say "Daaaayyyyyuummm" quite the same way. I'd go for the NSX in a heartbeat. Just because the gauges are analog doesn't mean that the car is any less luxurious. It's at least on par with the S2K if not better (well it was when it was new. Now you will probably have to deal with aging leather, which isn't fun or cheap. If you're really serious about buying an NSX, find one with a good interior).
