If you are still looking for a way to make your jpegs smaller - if you have Microsoft Office there is a product included called Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Open your .jpg file and click "Picture" and then "Compress Pictures..". On the right panel that pops up, click "Compress for Web Pages" and then click OK (you will see the before and after sizes). Then click "File/Save" to save the new smaller .jpg picture.
