OK, I was told I couldn't outrun a friends vette. This is my second project car. My frist one was a 91 Camaro and I was able to get 792hp out of it so I know what it takes to make a car with that kind of hp.
I also agree this would be impossible to do without a second car, exp since I plan on doing most of the work myself. I know there are tons of things I can do but when it comes to forced induction I will be letting a professional do it regardless if I go turbo or supercharger.
Now here is the ironary of this hole project:
The vette is a 1977 that runs a 16.6 booked time, but since I have the best times of the vette. I have been able to find out it is a 18.2 actual time, at least for this vette.
Now that makes a great point, 18.2 is the time I am shooting to outrun. Now my guess of 500hp was just that a guess. My camaro had 792 dynoed hp and would only get a 14.2 out of a quarter. That car would lift the front wheels off the ground when it jumped and that would make my ears have slits in them (from my smile).
Now I have done many rebuilds of motors and don't have a problem doing this but from what I have read and from the way I can see it spec'ed I can only get like 290 even if I go forged and max everything without doing forced induction.
Just my thoughs. Let me know if there is anything else I could add. It is the whole want thing.
Also thanks guys for the links and the advice.
Thanks again!!
