Yeah I think it would be good to do a newbie guide.

The reason I asked for the S2K is that its a horsepower/dollar issue. Most of the bolt ons for an s2k add only a little and some don't add anything -- or to Beaters point -- actually reduce performance. I am currently looking into a few things but the best bang for your buck on an s2k seems to be chip and a comptech supercharger (the tranny might not hold up well with much more as it has some issues factory). Headers and exaust are good and will add to the hp gains from the above, but alone they dont do much for the s2000. I didnt notice anything from exhaust and only a very minor difference with a K&N Typhoon style intake. Both probably added a grand total of about 2 maybe 3 whp for a cost of about $2000.

If you added an intake, chip and the Comptech supercharger, and worked on stiffining up the body a little that would take you a long way for the dollar. Anything more than the 300 whp that the Comptech adds would probably beat up the tranny.

Stock, Honda has already added an electronc clutch disc slip mechanism so you dont shock the transmission during acceleration. Not sure how that would work with putting all 300 bhp down to the pavement. My s2k (new - 5k miles) will actually electronically slip accelerating during a 5-6 shift. Handles like a dream but would need a lot of work to make it a true race car -- I'm considering buying a second car to race.
