Lucky freaking you. I used to think smogging wasn't a big deal. And then I got my Sil-Eighty. At cruising its 8 times what the legal HC limit is. So I've got to get a smog retune just to pass.
Like I said, the high-flow cats don't clean well. And modern cats flow well anyway. It's stupid not to have a cat. Despite the trouble I'm having with my car, a car that can't pass a smog test isn't a street car.
I've seen some beaters Primetime. My CRX is one. And it's only going to get worse
